It’s Nuts Being Human

It’s Nuts Being Human

Conversations exploring our shared humanity with humility, humour and hope.

Have you ever stopped for a moment and wondered…

What on earth is this experience we call being human?

It is extraordinary.

It is complicated.

It is humbling.

It is beautiful, bewildering and, at times, completely nuts.

Here we are — conscious beings on a tiny planet, capable of creating music, art, technology, medicine and extraordinary acts of compassion.

We look towards the stars searching for answers, explore the mysteries of existence and create intelligence beyond ourselves.

And yet, perhaps the greatest mystery remains the one closest to home:

ourselves.

The human experience is a paradox.

We are capable of incredible love and unimaginable suffering.

We seek connection while creating division.

We long for freedom while sometimes giving away our own power.

We create extraordinary advancements while still learning the wisdom required to use them well.

Perhaps this is not a flaw in humanity.

Perhaps it is the very nature of becoming.

Because being human is not a finished state.

It is an unfolding.

A continual invitation to learn, grow, question, remember and evolve.

A conversation, not a conclusion

This is not a space for certainty or answers handed down from above.

It is a space for curiosity.

For the questions that make us pause.

For the conversations that expand our perspective.

For the moments where we can look at ourselves, our world and our shared experience with a little more compassion.

And perhaps a little more humour.

Because when you really think about it, the human experience is rather fascinating.

We can create spacecraft, compose symphonies, develop artificial intelligence and explore the edges of what is possible…

…yet we are still learning how to understand ourselves, how to communicate with kindness and how to live together with all our differences.

Perhaps the most amusing part is that we are both the creators and the creation — the ones asking the questions while also being the great mystery we are trying to understand.

Maybe wisdom is not found in taking ourselves more seriously.

Maybe it is found in holding the mystery with enough humility to laugh along the way.

This is an invitation to explore the extraordinary, complicated, humbling and sometimes bewildering journey of being human.

A conversation between humans.

One reflection at a time.

A thought over a cuppa

Can you recall something in this human experience that’s completely nuts yet still makes your heart sing?
